McKay Bricker Awarded 
Second Place

Cass Mayfield and staff received second place in the Ohio Professional Picture Framers Associationís (PPFA) framing competition. The top three entries will represent Ohio framers at the PPFA International Framing Competition in Orlando, FL this February.

This years framing challenge was a three dimensional piece, an artistís paint brush. Cass designed the frame with a backdrop of a reproduction of the Jasper Johns painting, Savarin depicting an artistís table with a jar of paint brushes. A shelf simulating the table was used to display the brush in the shadow box frame. Preservation framing techniques were uses to frame the brush. Judging criteria included design, technique, and craftsmanship.

The Certified Picture Framer (CPF) designation is awarded by the Professional Picture Framers Association (PPFA) to individuals who successfully meet rigorous testing of current framing standards. Cass earned her CPF designation in 1989 and is one of three CPFís on the McKay Bricker Staff
